Expertus^®WWW - CDS/ISIS databases on the World Wide Web

The Splendor solution for CDS/ISIS databases - Expertus^®WWW - allows for installation on the World Wide Web any database created using CDS/ISIS structure. Software understands inverted file of CDS/ISIS database and process the same retrieval functions as CDS/ISIS does. The search results are created on-line.
No conversion or preprocessing of CDS/ISIS database is required.
The database in CDS/ISIS format must be simply put on WWW server and Expertus^®WWW should be run in CGI mode.

new: browsing search results ordered by selected fields (by way of example: year and title)

All above-mentioned options are presented below (as an example: demo database).
Software requirements
Expertus ^®WWW software is plaform independent. It runs on any type of CPU (Intel, SPARC and others) and operating systems listed below:

Unix SCO, Solaris, Unix V, Linux, FreeBSD
Windows XP, Windows 2000, WindowsNT 4.0, WindowsNT 3.5, Windows95, Windows98

Using Expertus^®WWW does not introduce any changes during creation of the database.
Creation of the database does not vary, you are using CDS/ISIS.
CDS/ISIS database is retrieved directly, without any conversion or preprocessing.

Demo database CDS/ISIS managed by Expertus WWW
Expertus WWW presents any CDS/ISIS databases (bibliographies, catalogues) on Internet by WWW.
Demo database is a simple catalogue of books.
Retrieval fields are:


	lastname and firstname in separated subfields repetable fields are: authors and keywords aside from indexing whole fields, into inverted file are also taken all words from title, publisher, keyword indexes can be browsed for each field separately

Sarching can apply to the whole database or can be narrowed to selected years: 1997; 1996; 1995; 1994; 1993;
Results can be narrowed to books published in selected languages: Polish; English; German; other;

Display of the retrieved records

	results can be displayed according to PFT files of CDS/ISIS with full field labels (fields preceded by labels Author:, Title, Catalogue number: with short field labels (fields preceded by labels AU:, TI, CN: in USMARC format some fileds as an example author, keyword can have active links

Searching for books published in Polish or English, containing the words Sherlock and Holmes (in whichever position, not necessarily as a first word of title)
1. select languages: Polish, English
2. select field title - any words
3. type Sherlock Holmes
4. press Search button

mark and unmark records (redisplay after pressing Display marked: the new results consists of selected records only).

We offer also an additional software Expertus^®INV when you want to breake CDS/ISIS limits and put to inverted file long keys (above 30 characters long).
